"As long as I take DDR2-800 am I ok?"

You need to compare the timings & especially the voltage specs. Corsair RAM *usually* runs at the JEDEC standard voltage of 1.8v but a lot of the OCZ RAM I've seen is "high voltage" RAM that runs at 2.0v or higher.

another issue is dual channel, some motherboard will run dual channel using 2 different memory. some will not.

Yeah but couldn't I dual channel like 1-3 OCZ and 2-4 Corsair?

Like Jam said, check the timings and especially the voltage. Name brand doesn't matter.

I've looked a little bit and I'm pretty lost. Why do they make things this much complicated?? Anyway, here is what I have:

OCZ Platinum XTC REV.2 PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-15 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit

Is the timing only the CL4 or the whole sequence?

Thanks!
