Is it possible to get CF working on a 486?

I want to use a 2GB Compact Flash card as a hard drive, but my Zenith motherboard can only count up to 16 heads on a hard drive. There is quite some detail starting at Post #8 of this thread:

The mobo has LBA control mode, but it doesn't seem to recognize the card, apparently because it can't match the 64 heads recognized by a more modern motherboard. The card and adapter are functional. Is it possible to get the card recognized?

I doubt you can. A 486 with lba would be almost unbelievable. I suspect that Zenith is using a different word. Try a 256 meg card instead or maybe even a 28 meg.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

Believe it. I just managed to find a 32MB card. The Zenith could read and write to the card, but couldn't boot from it. The board is getting flaky anyway, much to my chagrin.
