is it ok to upgrade my 350 watt psu to 500 wa

Specs: Windows 7 home prem 64bit, Quad core / 4gig
Ive been having some problems with my dell inspiron 530 Quad lately, Bsod every now and then, Dell couldn`t fix it, wasted time on the phone.
I have upgraded to win7 premium from vista p but this has not fixed it,so upgraded my memory
from 2gig to 4 gig still not fixed it ,then upgraded my built in graphics, to nvidia geforce gt 430,
still the same, so thinking of upgrading my PSU from 350 watt to 500 watt do you think that this
might be the problem thanks in advance

Without knowing the reason for the BSOD it's impossible to guess if a PSU change will help.

How about posting the BSOD error message and any related Event Viewer messages? They are there to help resolving problems.

Few blue-screen errors are attributable to power-supplies. You need to investigate further before committing more money on the machine. Most BSOD's are created by driver problems and software issues. The hardware-related problems are often due to a defective/failing hard-drive and, occasionally, memory issues. Post the exact message (as Nigel mentions) next time it occurs...

The clue is in the BSOD. There should be a STOP code & an error message. Next time it happens, write the info down word-for-word, then either post it here or google it. Upgrading the OS, RAM & graphics probably wasn't necessary, but at least they are good upgrades. Did you get the GT 430 while it was on sale at newegg for $19 after rebate & promo code? I was going to cash in on it myself but it sold out too quickly.

Here's a list of common STOP codes:
