these are the steps ive taken in order to solve the problem:

2. ive switched memory - no effect
3. i have switched video cards to mx440- no effecti cant think of another possible solution. will reformatting ultimately solve this problem??
howbout switching OS to windows 98??any possible explanation, solution, or opinions will be much appreciated!

I wish I only got 6 failures in 2 months. I would think I had a sweet running system.
Have you determined which program is running when you get the failure? Try uninstalling/reinstalling it.

ive installed and reinstalled all my drivers, but i dont think reinstalling a game like counter-strike will help solve the problem

Have you installed the game before or after changing the cards. If before it may use some graphic settings your new card can't work with!
But only to be sure, check what irq your graphic and soundcard are using.
I had a hell of trouble with my old pentium lately only because the graphic was irq 12. Reinstalled it with all extension card drawn so it got irq 11 and added the extension cards. Now all runs and don't ask why because I have no idea!Check also for conflicts in the device manager!

I got this error for a while and finally fixed it not too long ago.

Reseting the virtual paging file fixed it for me.

i dont have any irq conflicts!! i dont see any exclamation points on any device
any other solution plz help

Have you tryed reseting the windows virtual paging file? It fixed the problem for me.
