I installed a new 300GB Maxtor internal drive, Model 6L300R0, did quick low level format of it using PCBeginner software and rebooted. CMOS recognizes the drive but I can not access it from Windows Explorer. Does anyone know how to fix this problem. I have 2 DVD burners & 2 other external HDD. I have 1 internal Hdd & 1 DVD drive connected to each IDE port. Both internal HDD have jumpers set for master. E-mail nwtrekkie@monarch.net

By using my PCBeginner software and resetting the partition for the drive in question, and then rebooting the drive (H) is now visible in Windows Explorer. I highly recommend this software package available from www.PCbeginner.com.

Whatever for when the Windows XP CD and Windows XP itself will do everything that is required to install a brand new hard disk.
All you need to do make a new disk visible in Windows Explorer is to go to Computer Management > Disk Management and partition and format the hard disk from there.
