Comment:

My sister just recently bought an older model IBM Thinkpad 760EL and it doesn't seem to have an internal dial up modem in it, what kind of modem does it use and how do we install it? Thanks
Misty

There was none, and there is no place to install an internal modem

PCMCIA, would indeed be the thing to use. You COULD use a generic external serial port modem, but of course it would be bigger and clumsier, need it's own power, etc.
