Specs: Windows 7, Core2duo/3GB
Hi, I have an assembled Core2duo, 3gb RAM, 512mb graphic card, and asus mother board with 3 HDDs connected in the system. one HDD is with an IDE 80 GB and 2 SATA 500 GB, I have installed win xp in 80 GB HDD, and Win 7 in one of the 500 GB SATA HDD ( will call it as HDD A). the problem is with 500 gb HDD B that'll go off once i start working ( like copying or moving data from other to this HDD) Please let me know whether there is a problem in HDD or the system won't support.

If the drive is sometimes visible and sometimes not I would suspect a loose/flakey cable or a faulty controller. check the cable connections and if you have spares available use a different SATA cable for testing. Next download and run a hard drive diagnostic tool. Get it from the drive manufacturer. They usually run from bootable CD or floppy.
