I just got my new Lenovo T400 and love it. When I ordered it, I opted to NOT get the Intel Turbo Memory add-on. However, now that I see I can get one for ~$25 on eBay/Craigslist I am tempted. I did a google search and found a lot of bad press about Intel Turbo Memory, some reviews showed laptops booting twice as fast, while the majority claimed it didn't help at all or even decreased performance. Unfortunately, all of these reviews seem to be from 2007 or earlier. I figure in the two years since then, Intel and manufactures have had a chance to update software and hardware.

So, what is the current feeling towards adding Intel Turbo Memory to a T400 laptop? Will it improve performance, not make a difference, or make things worse?

Finally, would it be better to get a mini PCI-e SSD (of say, 4GB) and use it for ReadyBoost?

PS: I am already maxed out on the RAM Windows can use.
