Will an Intel OEM heatsink assembly that was included with a Core2Duo E6400 work, fit and be compatible from a coolong standpoint with a Socket 775 Prescot P4 3.6 GHz model 560? Have the Intel heatsinks been changed in any way or improved from the Prescott to the Core2Duo models?

Hi

as i understand it current intel hsf is this one

http://www.cooltechpc.com/c/ctpc/st...

which is rated 'Socket 775 Pentium 4 upto 3.8GHz, Pentium D upto 3.2GHz '

reqiures the relevant holes in the motherboard, the older intel hsf is this one

http://developer.intel.com/design/m...

and uses a plastic latch, so possibly depends on your mobo.
hopefully useful info.
(I have been told neither is any use for OCing.)

im not savy with intel ,im still an amd user till nxt week then im a convert lol , (build in progress)

:)
