hi folks, its not realted to my laptop but my old tower.... i have dismantled it and i had a though while doing so, which was 'why not upgrade the PC as much as possible, so that means RAM, graphics, Fitting a DVD drive, etc.

What was on my mind was, does anyone know what processors i can fix up to an Intel MU440EX Mobo and what would be the highest spec processor i could fit? also whats the max amount of ram i can fit on the board?

*edit*:
Also if i fitted another processor should i overclock it and if so, how many fans would be required?

Here's what you need to know...click on download.

Frankly, it's not worth spending a thin dime on. Any upgrades you make should cost you absolutely nothing.

Max memory is 256Mb; 2 X 128Mb PC66.

What's in it now for a processor and memory?

im pretty scared now.... its fitted with 288mb ram, don't ask how that happened, it was just there when it was given to me..... anyway, the processor is a 333mhz intel celeron, the medocino core version.

No need to be scared. Apparently it will support some 256Mb chips; that's not uncommon as the information from Intel is dated.

Most manufacturers don't bother to update specs after a few months.

Taking the 333 Celly to a 400 won't give a noticable performance increase. You need to download the stuff I linked to and check the "AA" numbers to see what processors your board will support.
