Specs: Windows XP Home Edition
My problem is I have already 128 MB of PC100 RAM, I have bought PC133 512 MB of RAM to upgrade my machine. But my system doesnt boot if I put my new 512MB RAM in the second slot. I have tried all the combinations but it doesnt boot. suggests that PC133 is compatible with my motherboard. Please help, its really frustrating as I understand both should work together after lot of gogelling.

Probably a density issue. Is your 512MB stick single sided (8 chips) or double sided (16 chips)?

Double Sided 16 chips.

Here's what Intel advises on RAM for that board.

Mixing PC100 & Pc133 "should work" but may cause problems. Ensure that your RAM meets all criteria. PC133, 3.3volts(only), unbuffered non-ECC, SPD

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
