Hi,
I have an Intel AnyPoint 3240 DSL Modem, which has been working fine upto about a month ago.
Now, when booting my PC up for the first time, the modem doesn't seem to initialize, and the LED on the modem just stays red (rather than going green). After a reboot or 2, it usually initializes successfully, although sometimes it can take a while.
I remember seeing this before, a friend had an Intel Pro/DSL 3220 Modem which was having similar problems, but I don't think he ever fixed it.
Anyone have any ideas?
Regards,
Chris

Thanks Clyde, although I was hoping that there might be some way to resolve this issue. It was working OK for about a year until recently.
Anyone else?
Cheers,
Chris

Since it is a USB device have you tried disconnecting and then reconnecting it once you have Windows up and running. Also try booting without being connected and then plug it in. As Chris pointed out the most likely choice is replace it. Another question is have you downloaded the latest driver package for this modem?
Richard

Thanks for the suggestions. It turns out it is a bug between the modem and Norton Antivirus.
Regards,
Chris
