There is. Do a google search on benchmarking and you will find many sites that compare the 2 processors.

If you are into gaming and grpahics then go with an AMD 64, becuase AMD 64's are better then Intel's 64's due to AMD's 64's HyperTransport technology.

If you are into multimedia and encoding then go with an Intel 64, because Intel 64's are better then AMD 64's in multimedia and encoding due to intel 64 larger cache size.

If AMD 64's had the same cache size as Intel 64's then AMD would end up out benchmarking Intel in almost everything, but of ocurse AMD 64 processors would be as much as Intel 64 processors.

Yeah they got Intel Pentium 4 64's now.

Intel Pentium 4 EM64T 6xx series processors with 2mb cache.

Currently they run at 3ghz and up, but they are 100 dollars more at the same rated speeds as the AMD Athlon 939 64 series.

Thanks Cobra_R,

I do remember hearing about the EMT64 pentium chips... apparently they perform the almost exactly same as regular P4 chips?

Thanks man!

Yeah they do when it comes to graphics and gaming, but Intel does better in multimedia and encoding, which has also been Intel's strong point vs AMD anyhow so I wasn't shocked to see that the new Intel Pentium 4 EM64T out benchmarked AMD Athlon 64 in those areas. Although I was a bit surpised at how the Intel Pentium 4 EM64T didn't fair that much better vs the Intel Pentium 4 32 bit processor in multimedia or encoding with the larger cache size. If the 2mb cache was mostly Intels selling point on these processors then many people will that bought be these chips for mostly that reason will be disapointed that the extra 1mb of cache didn't improve preformance all that much vs the Intel Pentium 4 32 bit processor with 1mb of cache.
disapointed

No graphics card! If you want to run the latest games and run them well you should get something along the lines of a 6600GT from Nvidia (but then I would say that as I have one ;) )

As far as I konw there are NO durons anymore, and certainly none at 3.2 Ghz....!

Otherwise all the basics are there, infact your components are quite similar to mine (below)
