Integrated Video Card giving me blank screen

August 16, 2010 at 01:00:44
Specs: Windows 7, Quad Core/8 Gigs
Got a new computer recently and since it only came with an integrated video card, I bought an NVidia 9800GT as an upgrade. Did some gaming on it for about a week, then realized I don't really need it.

So I uninstalled the drivers for the NVidia card, shut down the computer and removed it. Then i plugged my monitor back into the integrated DVI port. Booted up, and blank screen. The computer is starting, the monitor just isn't recognizing any input. It's as if the integrated DVI port got turned off.

I've tried restoring drivers from the CD that came with the computer as well as a program I have called "Driver Genius" that can restore drivers from restore points (like System Restore) and no luck. I'm pulling my hair out over this. No idea what could have happened.

Thanks for the help

edit: I know it says "Dell Inspiron" but its actually a desktop "ZT" computer, not a Dell of any sorts.

Did you go back into the bios and select "integrated video" before you took out the video card?

Yes, the integrated VGA port is enabled, still nothing.

Got it sort of working. I was able to get it to work using the VGA port ONLY but when it boots into Windows, its a blank screen. I see everything, even see the Windows 7 loading graphic...but once it gets into Windows the screen goes blank. Sounds like a driver issue.

Still having issues with this. Black screen once I get into windows. I see a black screen yet I can still see and move the mouse pointer arrow. Cntrl-alt-delete does nothing.

This is only through the VGA port. Still havnt been able to get the DVI port working.

Anyone have a clue? Stick here :/
