Comment:

I have installed a new WD800JD it is recognised by BIOS at the correct size, the drive is visable in Explorer but is not formatted. Lifeguard for windows won't move forward after the set partition page and Lifeguard for dos hangs when it is loading. Any ideas what is wrong with Lifeguard or an alternative route to forming 80gb logical drive under win me?

If you have a floppy drive you can go to bootdisk.com and download a startup disk that has 'fdisk' on it.
