installing software for a printer

hello, I am trying to install the software for my photo printer and i keep getting this error...
c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. this system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and windows applications. choose close to terminate this application....
I have been getting this alot recently, any ideas why this is happening.

it's an xp problem. using windows explorer goto the windows folder on c:drive than goto repair. find & copy config.nt & goto system32 still in the windows folder & click paste. repeat that with autoexec.nt. now you should be able to load printer software

Hey that worked perfectly thanks, the autoexec file was not in there, i have another question for you, i think i have gotten to be pretty good with computers, but yet things like this always come up, no one ever knows the answers but yet i look at the questions on this board that are posted and the answers people come up with and there are a group of people here that are borderline brilliant, how did you become so good with computers, is there certain books out there or is it by asking questions and trial and error?

me it was school of hard knocks. been playing/working with computers nearly 20years & still learning. i'm more hardware than software as in fixing
