I wish to set my old Samsung SV4002H as dual (slave) and my new Western Digital as Dual (Master). Running into all sorts of errors because I cannot locate the correct jumper settings for my drive as Samsung does not picture them on their site and I am having a problem working the settings out pictured on the drive itself. Both drives are bootable, despite me getting the "unmountable boot volume error" as I tested them jumpered as single drive master. Anybody that can post the jumper settings that would be great or offer some assistance.

I believe that the jumper settings are the same as on a CD or DVD drive. For a CD drive the leftmost column is cable select (master or slave is determined by where on the cable the drive is placed). Middle column is slave. Rightmost column is master.

Far left should be master, or you can leave the drive unjumpered if its on its own channel

It's a slave to the primary master so that I attached it "in the middle of my IDE" ribbon. Set the jumper to the middle but the Samsung comes with 2 jumpers to jumper the drive? Any suggestions...perhaps relocate the harddrive?

one of the jumpers is to set the drive to 32mb setting. you just need one jumper and quite where to place it i'm not sure?? trial and error springs to mind - - that is of course if you need one at all. I can't see that an incorrect jumper would result in a damaged drive.

Booboo,
How did you make out. I am trying to do the same thing you are and I am not having any luck setting my old Samsung SV4002H as dual (slave) and my new Western Digital as Dual (Master). Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mikey
