I just got EVGA GeForce 6800GS PCI-E card. Its my first pci-e card ever. Upgrading from a GeForceFX 5500 pci. Ok so i installed the new one in and during start ups and the loading windows thing I get massive flickering. Im really not sure what it could be. The comp recognizes the card and this doesnt happen with my 5500, only the 6800GS. Im pretty sure i connected the cables correctly. Ive searched the web for solutions but found nothing. Do you think it could be a overheating problem or maybe just a faulty card? Please i need help on this.
Specs:
AMD Athlon Sempron 64 2800+
1gb Corsair
MSI K8N Neo3 Motherboard
CRT Monitor (its a gateway, EV700)

Does it flicker in the BIOS ?
Is the 6-pin aux power plugged in ?
Did you uninstall your prior card's driver ?
Is the 6800GS driver installed correctly ?Since you have a CRT monitor, I assume you are using the VGA port, did you try the card using the DVI port via the adapter ?
There is only one satisfying way to boot a computer.

you only get the flickering during startup and windows loading? but the rest of the time it is fine, correct? im not a genius, far from it, but have had simular issues, where the pc will load a generic driver to support the display. check your device manager to confirm it doesnt have conflicts. you may just need an updated driver as mention above.
99% of computer problems are not the motherboard nor power supply but simply between the keyboard and the chair.

I get the blinking even after start up. The drivers seem to be there. I did uninstall drivers prior to installing it.Yes its correctly installed. I got everything plugged in and i still get problem. Ill try that adapter thing tho, maybe it could work. Anyway i still need help
