Installing new SATA drive..Hyperion

OS: XP Pro/SP1
CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon 64/3800+/1 Gig

I'm going to buy a new sata drive soon and was wondering if I needed to install the sata driver during the XP installation or should I install XP then install the new Hyperion Pro drivers in windows?

thanks for the links. But what i wanted to know was should I just skip the sata driver process during xp install if I plan on using the Hyperion Pro?

Hi,

If you plan on using the drive as your boot drive with Windows on it, then yes, install it during the xp installation. If, however, you are not using it as the boot drive, install the drivers after xp has been installed on your IDE drive.

Hi,

Sata/Raid drivers can be taken from the driver CD that came with the motherboard. IF not, go to VIA technologies website and download their sata/raid drivers.
