Installing 2nd Harddrive

Im trying to install 2nd hdd to turn my pc into an audio/video jukebox tryed to run both hdd of one cable tryed many variations of jumper settings including both on CS bios is set to IDE-O i have no instructions for either hdds wich are 1/MAXTOR 80GB ATA/133 2nd/WESTERN DIGITAL 80GB IDE 7200 8MB CACHE. can you tell me the easyest way to install them Thanks in advance John.

The easiest way is to slave the new drive (middle connector) to your existing drive.

Hook the western digital up first, set the jumper to master. Set the maxtor jump to slave. make sure you use an 80-wire cable. make sure your not using a cable select cable(easiest way to check is see if there is a tiny hole in the wires right above the motherboard connector.) set the bios to IDE-0 in the boot sequence. IDE-0 is the setting to have your system boot from the master drive on your primary IDE chain. good luck!

oooopsie i didnt know one of your drives had an os on it already. whichever one has the os set to master and other to slave. see ya!
