Hi ! Yesterday I picked up a new motherboard to upgrade my computer, It was AsrockS741gx, it looks good. But when i try to re-install the OS ( WinXP Pro) it didn't work. One time it was the disk-space problem (?), other time it was the display driver problem (?)..I try everything i could ( another hard-drive, another graphic-card ..) but no hope it was a big screen Blue of death !
Are you just replacing a motherboard? Or did you add new components? Why are you replacing the motherboard? (Did the PSU blow up and fry it?)
Make sure you use the standoffs correctly according to your motherboard's manual (standoffs are those things that keep the motherboard's backside from touching the metal case and causing a short).
Try and work with a minimal system. Disconnect everything except your video, ram (maybe just use one stick), and your cd drive.
Although I'm leaning towards one of your ram going bad. Maybe you shocked it with static electricity while you were switching the motherboards. Do what the above post says and test your memory.
