install WinME on toshiba laptop

Hi, I have a Toshiba 3110CT laptop with Argosy 24x PCMCIA CD-ROM. I want to format the harddrive then install Windows ME. But I can't make DOS (i'm using a boot disk) to access the CD-ROM (it does not detect). Can anybody help?

Download a W98OEM boot floppy image from www.bootdisk.com, this should detect the CDROM If not you need to install a basic DOS O/S on your hard drive with CD support look at this article the basics are the same: http://web14.compaq.com/falco/detail.asp?FAQnum=FAQ4860 The CDROM driver you can obtain from www.bootdisk.com. If it still will not work you need "Card and Socket Software" installed in DOS see: http://www.tssc.de/index.htm#http://www.tssc.de/products/cwdos/cardware_dos.htm
