Computing.net,
I want to install a second hard drive on my Dell Dimension L667r computer. I have a CD-Burner installed as my D-drive. I've made the proper connections of the power cable and the only available ribbon cable coming from the back of the CD-Burner. I was told that the second hard drive would be running as the [2ND SLAVE] DRIVE OFF OF CD-BURNER CABLE. I donm't know much about CMOS etc. Do I have to chgange settings using CMOS etc.? If you could help me I'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks again.

If possible, the second hard drive should probably be on the same ribbon as the first hard drive, Either way, you need to set the jumpers on the back of the device on the same ribbon, along with setting the jumper on the hard drive. otherwise things wont work right. good luck.
