I am trying to make an operable machine by installing a SATA hard drive into a machine that has no SATA ports through an IDE/SATA adaptor. The question that I have are what are possible complications?

If I am assembling these into a machine without an existing IDE drive, will the computer detect the new card automatically?
Will have to assemble the machine with a temp IDE drive?
