Hey, I'm trying to install windows XP. on a P5NSLI ASUS mobo and I get to the Terms of agreement(EULA) and then i press F8 to accept and then it says Insert my Windows CD, (LEGIT COPY) had to buy it a while ago :((((( Ive also tried a burnt copy.
The CDrom is recognized in bios aswell as the HDD
Anyways I looked on the ASUS forums, and there are problems installing WINDOWS XP but not exactly like mine. People are actually getting to the process of Partitioning the HDD where I can't get past it. Their fix would be to Load 3rd party Drivers at the begging of the windows installation by pressing (F6)
If the problem I have needs the same solution or if i'm doing something wrong or if theres anyways around it. Because right now I have no Floppy Disk drive, which is the only way you can load drivers during the windows XP installation
Thanks, Specs below

In a lot of newer motherboards & even many older boards that supports SATA, it is not uncommon for attached SATA drives to be detected & allowed to function properly without any supplemental SATA drivers installed, this is because these board will support the drives operation in IDE mode.
Is your SATA HDD detected in the BIOS at all, if it is - how is listed?
Also, did you check the motherboard's NVRAID configuration in the BIOS? If you didn't, I suggest you go in there & make sure RAID is disabled.

you must press f6 at the beginning of XP's install so that after all the innate drivers are loaded you can load the Sata drivers from floppy. The sata drivers are on the Asus disc. Explore the disc and copy them.
If you don't press f6 at the beginning of Xp's install, you'll never get your computer running with your SATA drive.
BTW, you'll see the prompt at the bottom of the install page just before windows loads drivers.
Good luck

How long ago did you get your XP disk?
Does it include Sp2?I had similar problems with a computer I built recently, and long story short I needed to use an XP disk with SP2 slipstreamed into it.
