Reply: (edit)How did you go about installing it? Generally speaking, it's best to put the 2nd HDD on the 2ndary channel rather than to pair it up with the HDD w/OS on the primary channel. Make sure you set the jumper on the rear of the drive to either master or slave, depending on which you need

Reply: (edit)That sounds like your system is attempting to boot to the second HD. You either have the second HD installed as the Master drive on the primary IDE channel or possibly the boot order in the BIOS is set for something different. When the drive jumpers are set to CS (cable select) the drive on the END of the cable will be the Master. I recommend using Master/Slave settings instead. The position on the cable makes no difference then. In either case, if possible, follow jam's advice and install the second HD on the secondary channel.

Reply: (edit)All above is right Press f2 or f10 at start to get in bios and make sure the order is right in boot priority. You may have to navigate it but it should be pretty obvious. Also make sure that your doing master/slave right with cables, and that cable select is set for master for you Operating System hard drive and that slave setting is set for the nonOS. It is a small little plastic thing covering some metal prongs and read the alignment info on the HD.

Reply: (edit)I don't know WHY you can't see any drive info in the BIOS but the obvious solution is to remove the second drive and see if you can then get your system to run. If the computer WAS working OK before you must have the cables or jumpers wrong or the second drive is bad. You needent physically remove the second drive, just disconnect both the power and IDE (flat) cables and restore cables and jumpers on the original drive as they were. After that, post back and someone will walk you thru connecting the second drive correctly.
