Instal new harddrive on old Laptop

I just installed a new Fugitsu 10 gig harddrive on an old Presario 1200 laptop that used to run windows 95. I was able to partition and formart the Drive with Partition-Magic floppy, but I am not able to instal the operating syatem. I have tried using the Win98 boot disk to na avail. I tried installing from windows 98 Cd but it just spinns and stops. I am new to this so I need all the help I can get. Thanks

hello you might need to set bios to boot cdrom first have you tried from dos at the a:dir e: /p or what ever the cdrom drive letter is? try this and see if you can fined the exact path to ether setup or install such as a: e:\cabs\setup click enter
