Hello. I have an Inspiron 9300 laptop that started messing up recently. When I boot up, the bottom 3/4 or so of the screen are just a series of vertical lines. The top 1/4 is perfectly fine. Everything works normally, it's just that I can't see anything below the top 1/4 of the LCD. When I hook the laptop up to another display ( I hooked it up to a TV) everything works fine, so I'm assuming it's not a video card issue. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue. I'll probably end up taking it apart and seeing if there's a loose connection between the vid card and the lcd screen. But any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

Is it still under Warranty? Life's more painless for the brainless.

Not the Video system if external Monitor works. Not the LCD Backlight inverter if 1/4 of screen is OK and 3/4 is vertical lines. Connections doubtful, leaving LCD screen the most likely culprit. What happens with External monitor connected and you toggle between int/ext? There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
