Inspiron 8600 black screen

Hi I have a Inspiron 8600 and the screen is black, I can see my desktop barely on the background after the, and normal boot up, I tried Fn + up arrow for the back light but that didn't work. Any ideas I purchase refurbish LCD and that didn't work I have no way of knowing if the new LCD is even good. Note: the LCD did not came with the back light inverer. “The lack of knowledge in time of performance equal stress”

If you shine a flash light at the right angle and can see the screen..its your backlight or as Beckrl said..the screen inverter.
