does anyone know if the 15.4in and 14.1in complete screen assemblys are interchangeable, that is screen including lid and hinges. I have a 14.1 screen that is dead, seems to be much cheaper to but a machine on ebay that is for spares and use the complete screen assembly . !5.4in versions are availab;e ,only difference seems to be the sizel of the screen bezel

I doubt very seriously they would be. The way to find out is to have the model numbers of both your Dell laptop and the one on eBay.

Google for replacement panels from an online seller that sells NEW panels. If the part number from them for both laptops is the same then they will interchange.

If your panel is dead then the new panel must interface with the cabling and the graphics chip. I think the cable would be different. In addition, the locking catch may be different.

I would Google for the exact models just as I mentioned above. Only this time check the exact measurements of the laptop.

Why would you think they would fit? Every laptop is different. The idea is to fit the most into the least amount of space and make it weigh the least it can.
