Ink Jets ans Laser printers will take almost any kind of paper. It all depends on the output quality you require. The higher the required quality the more dedicated the type of paper you need until you get up to photographic paper.
You would have problems putting photographic paper designed for an ink-jet through a laser printer but a laser printer can take almost any other kind of paper. It's the weight of the paper that is going to be the deciding factor.
Well what im wondering about is in the store i work at we have Avery labels that say are for inkjet, and some say they are for laser. We do not have enough room to stock the different sizes for both types of printers, so for some sizes we only have one. This leaves customers asking if they can use the one type on the other type of printer.
So it is not photo paper so much that im wondering about, more for labels such as Avery Labels.
And are you sure its not more to it? Cuase I thought for some types of paper (such as photo) its that it needs a certain type of coating otherwise the ink will not stick to the paper. Or is this wrong and its only the heat thats the issue?
As I said the drum gets hot. The labels are made differently for each type. I don't know if the Laser labels will work in an inkjet but I know you don't want to use the inkjet labels in a Laser printer.
FYI, You can only run a sheet of address labels for a Laser printer through once. They wrinkle up and wounld feed again.
