Specs: N/A
Can someone please advise?

Bought VERY old computer.
Set to boot from CD-Rom.
CD-Rom is Ubuntu 11.04
After several minutes the following is displayed:
BusyBox v1.17.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.17.1-10ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of buil-in commands.

(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

Someone said it seemed as if a Windows XP installation was attempted but was not successful. The front of the tower says it is designed Windows NT Windows 98.

First of all, how old of a machine is it? RAM, CPU, HDD. It may be too "weak" to run Ubuntu.

While we wait for info read this.

Very old computers have several issues.

Can't easily read burned cd's. May have to switch to black types.

Not enough ram.

Can't boot to syslinux, needs isolinux.

CD may be burned too fast or not a good download. Even if it did boot on another computer it may be bad.

Someone talking about microsoft has no business telling that. That is ridiculus. :)
