inconsistent dvd-drive

CPU/Ram: P4 1.8Ghz/512Mb

i have a strange DVD drive problem, some DVDs eg. games and movies work perfectly but others (mainly cover DVD's from magazines) sometimes cause the PC to crash for no discernable reason. by the way its a samsung DVD-ROM SD-616. thanks in advance :)

demonhunt - i tried but couldn't find any updates for it, firmware or otherwise. the gits looks like no-one supports it any more
