Specs: Windows XP, 256MB
I have purchased a LAN card and as soon as i have inserted it into the mother board, the monitor stopped functioning, if i remove the LAN card then the monitor started normally.
Please let me know if any specific slot is to be used for LAN card?
if not what might be the problem?

If you have an AGP card in a slot then do not use the PCI slot next to the AGP slot. They are often built to share resources. It might help us sort out your problem if you posted details of the make/model number of the motherboard.
