I play battlefield 1942. The game has always looked and played great for me. Lately (and I have never changed anything physically) the in game graphics which include the buildings, people have all gotten really dark and my frames have dropped considerably.

I have a 2.4 ghz, 512 ram, geforce 4200 ti card. I changed nothing at all but now the game runs like hell. Is there anything I can do. I dont know if my psu is dying or the card is dying. Windows seems fine and other games are a little worse but not as noticeable.

I appreciate any tips you can give so I can at least try them. When I do msconfig I have NOTHING checked. Never have.

Thanks

I posted this here cause I am not sure if the graphics changing are a symptom of something going bad hardware wise.

I have tried different geforce drivers all with no resolve

Have you tried turning up the Gamma in the display properties? This usually does the trick.
