Hello,
I am looking for a way to import video clips from my camcorder to my computer. I tried to use Pinnacle Studio Version 7, but I realized that it only works for Win 98 and I have upgraded my computer to XP right now... The package came with a card to insert in the computer, I'm not sure wether I need it or not even though the program isn't compatible so I left it inside it. Does anyone know a way to import those video files on my computer? If it can be of any help, I use a Sony Camcorder (Digital8). Any response is much appreciated. Thx, Cristallerine.

What kind of cabling do you have with your camcorder? Do you have a port on your computer that matches? I think sony uses 1394 Firewire, but not sure. What you are looking for is how do you hook the camera to the computer. If you have a cable, one end will fit the Sony. Is there a port anywhere on your computer that matches the other end? Is there a port on that card you mentioned that matches the cable?

The update page says the patches work for XP, so I do not see why the card would not work for you. You should be able to install it fine with the directions. Read through all the links on the link.
There is also a Pinnacle help forum on the page. You might want to search them for known XP issues.

I really was not clear. But it is Monday and being unclear is allowed on Mondays.
The capture card should work for you under XP after you install the 7.15 update. It is available on the software update in the link above.
You should still check their forum for any XP issues.
