Imaging Solution for Dell PEdge?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a good imaging tool I can use to image and then re-image many Dell PowerEdge R710 - I've tried Clonezilla, which can't boot, and Partimage on the System Rescue CD - which doesn't recognize the Perc 6i. In the past I would have recompiled either one with the correct drivers; in my current roll my company would rather I simply purchase something which our non-Linux software developers can use in case I'm out.

So, I haven't used Ghost in years and I've heard some about Acronis. Can anyone recommend a tool I can use that I can create an ISO with, boot the machine through the DRAC Virtual media with the ISO, and then image my C: drive, and then do the same procedure on a new server to copy that image to the new one?

Thanks for any and all support,

Mike C

Acronis True Image is a very good program-I used to use it and from what I have seen others say, it is still very good-I think they're up to Version 11. I currently have ben using Norton Ghost-versions 12 and 14. I think it also works very well-I have managed not to pay for it for years(with rebates) by purchasing the triple bundle deal at

Thanks for your reply. I like true image - yet by itself it does not recognize the Raid 6i controller used by the Dell PowerEdge R710. It does work when integrated into a BartPE solution built using a Win2003 Standard source, and the correct Raid 6i and Broadcom Netxtreme II drivers from Dell's site.

I did find something that worked with no tweaking - a tools called PING - not ping as in the ping command, but an imaging ISO from these folks:

This is opensource, and is free, and worked like a charm - it found my network card and the disk, and since I already knew how to use Partimage it was easy to use.
