Ieee1394 internal port

Lenovo / T61

Specs: Windows Vista, Pent 4/2g
Added PCMCIA to get 1394 caqpability. Works fine but vendor software for golf analysis said I can only use 1 1394 prot on card that if I don't have an internal port that I can only use single camera to record. Question is can I add the internal 1394 port to my T61 8891 as it would have come from factory?

You can't add a 1394 port internally to a laptop. Can't you use USB as well as 1394?

Not as quick when using video. Use 2 cameras and thought because card has 2 ports it would work. Vendor said no. So if it isn't done at factory it can't be done?

That is correct. You may be able to use 1394 for one and USB for the other.

The only other thing would be if you could find a PC card with TWO 1394 ports on it. I have no idea if such a card exists.

This brings me to the point I expound on all the time to those that will listen. Laptops are not replacements for Desktops. You are trying to do more with your laptop than it was designed to do.

Salespeople love to sell laptops. That doesn't make them good choices for everyone.

Yes the card has multiple 1394 ports but it is a speed issue why they don't work with this program. I had another laptop with 1 1394 port and I added the PCMCIA card and both cameras worked fine. May need a new outdoor display laptop. Thanks

If a speed issue then it has something to do with the PC Card interface and there is no fix for that, I don't think.
