IDT HIGH DEFINITION audio codec (code 10)

January 20, 2010 at 10:35:13
Specs: Windows XP

Hi all. I have a Gateway Tablet PC and ever since I did a system restore I have had no volume on my computer, and being a college student it has been really, really annoying! I have tried to fix it but so far I am out of luck. When I open device manager it says IDT high definition audio codec "device cannot start" (code 10). I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it again. If anyone has any suggestions or expertise, please send them my way.
Thanks!

Third party sites should be used as a last resort.

Try installing the drivers from the Realtek web-site:

I know this problem, I am searching for a solution to, some are saying it is because of registry errors like this one.

Error Code 10

Do you think it can be the problem?
