Hi All

My parents (who live a long way away from me) desperately need a little more RAM. However, I don't know what type to get, and I don't know if their mobo supports more.

How can I work this out from here and then buy the right stuff so I can install it when I next visit? (without getting them to open their box?)

Many Thanks
Tom

The freeware program Everest Home will tell you many thing about what is inside the computer. Whether or not your parents will be able to decipher and relay this information is a little unsure.

If you know the manufacturer and model of their computer, you might be able to glean the information from the manufacturer's website.

You may also want to try CPU-Z from cpuid.com. It gives MB, CPU, RAM etc info as long as they are supported types.
