Let see... I have a asus a7n8x motherboard, and two hard drive attached. The two of them dont matter though because this occured when there was only one HD attached. Now the asus motherboard seems to have had this proeblem reported and fixxed in a bios update, but that didnt help me out. I will leave the PC on, then randonmly it reboots and hangs at IDE detection. Most recently it has been passing that and going to looking for a network boot. If I reset the PC same thing happens. If I cold boot it even just waiting a second, it detects the drives and I am on my way. Here is another little interesting bit of info. Once, maybe twice. I went into system propetites and found that my IDE devices were set to PIO. Should have been DMA 5. If anyone ever has this problem just uninstall the IDE controllers, that seems to have fixxed that problem.
