Specs: Windows 7 x64, amd phenom 9950/ 8g ram
Dvd drive not recognized by bios or windows. does not show up on startup.

I have a sata HDD and ide dvd. hdd shows up fine.

I've tried multiple ide cables and multiple dvd drives.
The drive is powered but does not work in windows.
I've tried everything in bios I could think of but I'm not a professional.

registry says this:

(Default) REG_SZ DVD/CD-ROM drives
ClassDesc REG_SZ @%SystemRoot%\System32\StorProp.dll,-17001
EnumPropPages32 REG_SZ storprop.dll,DvdPropPageProvider
IconPath REG_MULTI_SZ %SystemRoot%\System32\imageres.dll,-30
Installer32 REG_SZ storprop.dll,DvdClassInstaller
NoInstallClass REG_SZ 1
SilentInstall REG_SZ 1

please help. completely stumped.
