Comment: i have a digital 3100 system when i connect two drives to the ide primary connector the bios picks both drives up no problem. when i connect two drives to the secondary connector the drives work fine. the problem is when i try to have one drive on primary ide connector and one on secondary. the secondary device will show up on startup but not the primary. i am using two small 1 gig hard drives and a cd drive, all work fine. i have tested them all on one ide connector but i would like to install all three.

Reply: (edit) OK doc, here is two manuals that one of should answer your question. The first one is System Reference Manual. And the second one is a Service Maintenance Manual. It looks like the problem might be back in the BIOS. But I'll let you browse through the manuals. Good Luck!
