OS: WIN XP
CPU/Ram: Intel
Product: Toshiba A10
Comment:

I have a Toshiba Sattelite A10 Laptop and it takes some time to boot up.
When I try a recovery all's well until it says c for confirm or a for abort, so I select c and then all I get is IDE #0 Error

This is a failed hdd yes?

"I unplugged the HDD let it sit for half an hour but no change". Is this the internal HDrive in your laptop?

OK

The laptop is assembled

I turn it on and the boot screen comes up (TOSHIBA in red writing and some pics below it)

It sits on that screen for a bit the it disappears and at the top left corner it says "IDE #0 Error"

So I insert the 1st of the 3 recovery disks and shut it off.

I then turn it on and it then sits on the boot screen (TOSHIBA in red writing and some pics below it)
After a bit it boots from the disk saying by continuing you are agreeing to the Microsoft End User Lisence Agreement F1 to accept A to abort, So I press F1.

The next screen comes up saying

If you continue all data will be lost, yada yada yada. Press C to Continue A to Abort. So I press C.

The Laptop now shuts down and goes through it all over again, constantly.

So I shut it down and start again and we are now back at the start of this post.

Couple of suggestions.
1. If you have access to a desktop, remove the Toshiba HDD and hook it up as slave/ USB external and see what you get. Failing that
2 Beg/borrow a 2.5 inch HDD, any size really and try the recover CD's.
I think your are looking at a duff HDD so the above will confirm that at least.
