Comment:
I have two computers both have the same specs;
Pentium 4HT 3.0GHz 800MHz FSB 1GB DDR PC 3200 Ram
One is a Dell 4600, the other is an IBM 8187. The Dell 4600 was about $1500.00 CAD when it was new in 2004. I am not exactly sure what the IBM was but it was at least $2000.00
This I know is a probably a Controversial question but which system would be better "quality", or better built?

I heard about a small company not even called Dell yet trying to make PC's in his garage. He even sold some stock in that company (by the way I can tell you that $1800 dollars in that original company went up to $950,000 at Dell's peak) I personally couldn't imagine how anyone could compete with IBM. I mean IBM had it all. IBM had the smartest people, the best of everything and seemingly unlimited cash.
A lot has changed since IBM made the original PC. We used to have 24 hour hot cold chambers to test the PC's. Every unit was very well tested and had a superb service and fully documented.
Not sure any x86 is worth a darn or even if it needs to be worth a darn. It will be replaced in 6 months anyway.
Simple way to tell may be to start a test suite on each and let them run till one dies.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
