Specs: Windows XP, 1.6ghz 1gb
MY battery is not charging even though the charger is in, basically my battery lost all of its charge and wont turn on (no lights at all), i plug charger in nothing, i remove my batterry and try turning it on with the charger in but no luck, if i put that battery in another IBM and charge it with my charger it works and then when i put it in my laptop my laptop starts, i have checked the DC jack with a voltmeter and can see charge going in to the motherboard but if i check the connectors for the battery on the motherboard there is no charge coming through, any help with fixing this? or any one know where i can get this motherboard from for a good price?

The odds are that the jack on the laptop has broken loose from the motherboard because of the plugging and unplugging of the charger plug. You can test it by reaching in to see if you can wiggle the jack. It was very poor design to solder the jack to the motherboard. They should have used a flexible cable.

If that's the problem, it might just be a matter of a simple resolder job. Of course the laptop has to be taken apart to accomplish that.

Hello thanks for the response, but when i checked with the voltmeter i did take the laptop apart and tested the connections on the motherboard from the DC jack and current was going through from the power supply but it was not reaching the battery connectors on the motherboard (probably thats why it was not charging)
