ibm thinkpad locks up on boot up

ibm thinkpad a22e locks up on boot up from a cold start. once you restart it works fine. also if you shut down and restart within 15m inutes it also works fine, after that, locks up again on boot up

it might be the cmos battery, once it boots check the time and date, if they are off then very likely the battery.

thanks, no luck tho, i'm learning towards the memory slots,i tried switching memory locations, and it doesn't even get past the windows screen. and since they are connected i'm thinking that might be the problem. thanks anyway.
