How can I get it so that my IBM ThinkPad 600E won't beep when I put it to sleep+wake it up? It's not a good thing while at school... Thank You BTW, it would be great if it wouldn't beep when I turn it on, also.

I also have a 600E and the beep at start up is rather anoying and loud to say the least. What I do now is when windows boots, hold down the Function 'fn' key bottom left while tapping the Volum down to right. This will reduce the volume of the whole system. If you do this just before you shut down or when you've finnished using it then you won't get the beep at sleep time or boot-up.
