Ibm thinkpad 390 processor upgrade

Specs: Windows Vista
Hi i have a thinkpad 390 and am trying to upgrade it for my boy as a starter pc. I've upgraded the hdd and the ram and its still very slow. Is there another processor i can get for it to make it faster?

It is too old for XP or Vista and considering it only supports a maximum of 256MB Memory, your choices are Windows 2000 or Millenium Edition, but both are out of date.

Linux like Puppy Linux 5 would run really well........

If the system seemed to be fast when you bought it, then it may be fixed if you reload windows.

I doubt you can change a laptop processor. They tend to be soldered on.

Putting a good saddle on an old horse ain't much help.
