Ibm Thinkpad t60 notebook

Specs: Windows XP
I think i have just lost my third hard drive in two months on my think pad. The tech replaced the hard drive after my first time saying it definately was the hard drive. On the second occasion, about two weeks ago, he replaced my machine. Tonight, after using it this morning then shutting it down for several hours, I attempted to start up and computer is at the think pad initial screen and will go no further. It is making a clicking and scratching sound as before when it went down. Anyone have any suggestions and is it truly a hard drive issue ?

The description you give sounds like a failing hard drive.

If you are in the business environment it is common for parts to be recycled into computers that are still in use. That said, you may have gotten a used hard drive or two installed into your computer. The likely hood of failure is greater with older hardware.

Ask the tech and I bet you will find that all swaps were with used parts.
